Our cabin was an inside cabin on the Empress Deck -- the very LAST cabin at the aft of the ship.
The cabin was spacious enough that we were quite comfortable, but I think that 4 or more people
might feel a bit cramped. There was a large closet with several shelves and an area to hang clothes,
as well as a separate space for hanging more clothing. In addition, the cabin held a desk with 4 drawers,
a large mirror, a small table, and a chair. Lights could be turned on and off from the doorway and from
a switch above the bed; this was especially nice in our inside cabin, since we couldn't see ANYTHING
when we woke up in the morning.
The bathroom was a nice size, with lots of space in the medicine cabinet. The shower was
unpredictable, with random bursts of hot and cold water; that was my only complaint about the
cabin, other than the unbearable noise and vibration!!! The first night, while the ship maneuvered the Mississippi, the noise and
vibration were unbelievable.
We got very little sleep, and I was terrified that our entire cruise would be like that.
The noise was not as bad once we entered the Gulf, and the vibrations also calmed a bit,
getting worse each time we were about 2 hours from port. We made the best of it, and even
laughed about it near the end of the cruise; however, I would advise anyone booking a cruise
on the Celebration to book a specific cabin in the middle of the ship.
Our cabin steward, Cesar, kept our cabin very neat and always kept fresh ice in the bucket.
He was also very patient on sea days when my husband Greg slept late into the morning. Cesar would
'hang out' in the hallways after cleaning all the other cabins, just waiting for Greg to get up
and leave so that he could clean our cabin.
We didn't get any towel animals until the third night, but we received them each night
thereafter. It was a nice treat to come home to after dinner!
